Not Designed For Blending In
Unlike the new 5 Series, the 2017 E-Class features an exterior that is less blocky and includes a more curvaceous and aerodynamic design. The new E-Class also offers a range of body styles. Mercedes-Benz offers the 2017 E-Class as a sedan, wagon, coupe, convertible and high-performance AMG® models.
You Won't Lose A Power Struggle
The 2017 E 300 comes standard with a 241-horsepower 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine. The BMW 528i offers a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine, but churns out less power and doesn't deliver as much torque.
The 2017 E-Class also offers the E 400 coupe and cabriolet which come with a 3.0-liter V6 that delivers 329-horsepower. If that's still not enough, there is the AMG® E 43's 396-horsepower and the 4.7-liter V8 E 550 coupe and cabriolet that churns out 402-horsepower - both more than BMW 540i's 335-horsepower V6.
A First-Class Cabin
The focal point of the new E 300's interior is its undulating dash. Mercedes-Benz placed all the controls exactly where drivers need them to be, then added a series of luxury finishes such as the standard grain brown ash wood trim (or other optional wood finishes) and available 64-color ambient lighting. The result is a dash and doors that seamlessly connect to the unencumbered design of the E 300's 5-person seating.
The exquisite craftsmanship of the new E-Class cabin extends to other available features like a power tilt and sliding tinted sunroof, a panorama roof and a wood and leather steering wheel.

The Apex Of High Tech
When it comes to infotainment, convenience and tech features, the 2017 E-Series remains miles ahead of the 5 Series. The new E-Class infotainment system, COMAND®, is controlled by either a touchpad or a knob. The knob is located in the center console area and the touchpad is located right on the steering wheel. These controls connect to a 12.3-inch screen where drivers can set climate control, navigation and audio inside the cabin.
Additional available tech features include:
- Apple CarPlay™ and Android Audio™
- 13 or 23-speaker Burmester 3-D surround sound
- Air purifications system
- Bluetooth®*
- Dual-zone climate control
- USB ports
- CD/DVD player
Safe & Secure
The 2017 E-Class received a perfect score in all 3 crash tests, earning the vehicles a 5-star overall crash test rating by the NHTSA. Standard safety features include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, drowsiness alert and Car-to-X technology. Car-to-X technology is a radio-based exchange of information between vehicles. With this feature employed, 2017 E-Class drivers can be warned by vehicles ahead of potential traffic jams, hazards and crashes.
Available safety features include:
- Parking Pilot
- Rearview camera or a 360-degree surround-view camera
- Driver drowsiness warning
- Crosswind assist
- Evasive steering assist
- Lane keep, lane change and park assist
